Clearly aiming for Top 15 and with only havin a 11th, 70th, 6th and a blow up im thinkin atleast 5 ppl have won 1 and thats 50 points staright off....really need 2 deep finishes in next 2 to stand chance with double points bein the 1.....!

Greetings.

Our next Academy is just around the corner, and this time around we'll be returning to the home of East End Live: Asper's Casino, Stratford.

The topic for the day is WSOP: Winning Your Seat & Surviving Vegas, so if you want tips on satellites, playing the Main Event, and what to do once you're over there, then this is the Academy for you.

It will also be a lot of fun, and anybody who fancies playing Asper's £50 freezeout at 18:00 will automatically be entered into a last-longer for a future Academy seat.

You're being treated to three mentors this time with Alex Rousso, Neil Channing and Jamie Burland all on hand to offer their extensive knowledge. If you have any questions regarding the day, then please feel free to post your query here and one of them will be happy to answer.

For further details on the event, see here:

Multi-Tabling STTs on iPoker/MTT SnGs/DoNs/Jackpot STTs

I have a rare evening tonight where I might get chance to sit down and fire up a few tables. I probably don't have enough time to commit to sitting for 4/5 hours to play any MTTs so I thought I'd start to get back on the trail of STTs and try and get a couple of 2 hours sessions in.

The last time I looked to return to the Turbo $5 games I couldn't get more than about 2/3 tables running. Has ipoker low-stakes STT traffic dropped off? It would have been a weekday evening.

What do people think when it comes to Turbo STTs v DoNs (never got into these) and the Jackpots? Do the Jackpots not just end up costing you double rake and hardly anybody ever makes the jackpot to overcome this ROI destroying extra fee? Is there any joy in playing DoNs? Does the strategy vary much from a std top 3 payout STT? What about the 180-mans and such like? Are ipoker moving into these markets at all? As you can probably tell I haven't had a lot of time for online poker these last six months or so.

Finally, I have a load of reading material and videos lined-up to try and get me back into working on and thinking about the game regularly. I have the blueprint that Nick Wealthall did which Poker Player are offering to their subscribers, I have the Jared Tendler Dojo recording and his book, I have a load of stuff from Tre Nguyen's site recommended from James Carrigan, and I have a load of videos off of DC which I have only watched a single series of on MTTs by daaaaaaaaaaang16.

What are other people up to these days? Are you grinding? Are you just playing the odd league game and some of these big iPops events and such like? Cash/STTs/MTTs? What are you reading and watching?

Is there any good poker TV or online poker shows worth a watch at the moment. I subscribe to loads of stuff that I get regular emails from like pokercast.tv, but I never get round to viewing. Has the new Party Poker Premier League made the airwaves yet?

end-time makes 0 sense at all.

if you go to cashier and click account and tournament history and display the tournerys for a week they are listed by start time, so ipoker organises tournaments by start time to have a comp that scores points via end-time would therefore be totally bonkers.

Ah I see your point now.........................................

btw always check the widget update time, it is 21/5/12 13:30 aatm ie if u played any after tat they wont show yet.

They finally got me in the HR. I shoved 25bbs 4-handed. The guy with the similar stack called with 88 from the sb. I had KsQs.

$4,085 but it would have been a nice flip to win for the chip lead and $12,000 up top.

Four handed in the WSOP Experience sat. Chips are 179k,61k,43k and 30k.

I'm the 43k.

Winner gets $3700 package, 2nd gets $1200, 3rd gets pat on back, 4th gets the same.

There could be a couple of factors here. Which software are you using Dean? Here are a couple of ideas:

1. David's idea is definitely a possibility.
2. If you are playing full-ring games on ipoker and are using HM1 make sure you have updated to the latest version but I believe some people are still experiencing issues on FR tables.
3. Check that you are not using a HUD configured for six-max.

Hi to all those that replied to my post of 14/2/12 regarding info on Las Vegas, thanks very much your info was invaluable.
I am now back and the place just blew me away.
I followed your recommendations on the Ballagio buffet, Maggiano's, the cheesecake factory, and Freemont Street.and Binnions. All were great.
I took in the Grand Canyon by Helicopter, early morning, brilliant.
I managed to get a bit of gambling :-) in and although I didn't break the bank did ok. The highlight was playing a knockout tourney at the Ballagio. Sat at a private table was Doyle Brunson and Scott Seiver along with a few others. They were all of 15 feet away just playing poker. It was a bit of a surreal moment to be so close to these poker gods. I lasted a few hours before getting ko'd. I kept back a Ballagio chip to remember the occasion and went back to the hotel buzzing.
I stopped at the Stratosphere, the highest hotel/casino in Las Vegas. A hotel is located at the top which slowly revolves 360 degrees taking in the views of Las Vegas. The food was to die for and the night time views were something else.
Another highlight was going to the Golden Nugget Casino where they keep the largest Gold Nugget on display, 61llb.
The Ballagio fountains, seeing Elton John at Ceasars Palace, and Wynns were other highlights and I could go on and on. The only thing to say is get yourselves out there and live the dream

neil it occurred to me that if you took all the mulligan winners over course of 3 months 9like you do in league legs) and now after such a fantastic 1st try at a bigger buyin, you offer a one seat freeroll to next samurai for these mulligan winners, think people would see alot more major value in the mulli weekly!

also jo had a suggestion of $2 feeders to the mulligan on monday nights

and $3.30 prize for second place

Neil Channing posted on 21 May, 2:14pm
Feeders are a great idea...if they run. What I hate more than anything is to have something in the lobby, spend time promoting it and then see it cancelled. It's damaging to the business for me to spam something on Facebook that doesn't actually happen, as you only get one shot at a totally new player and they have to like what they see.

I think if we ran feeders they'd be attractive just to existing players. In a couple of weeks time when the lobby is bursting with Samurai and East End Live sats, there is a new league running and a couple of other things we are working on pop-up, I worry that the Mulligan feeders will look bit sad and lonely.

I do quite like the idea of the Mulligan play-off but right now it's a tournament that gets 20-30 runners and we rake about $30 a week from it. We then share that with iPoker and Boyles.

I'm not sure we get much by adding a seat for our $220.

I would love it to get 40-50 players a week but we just added the Belt Points to try and do that. If we took away the points and did this would that be better?
Photo

Peter Brown posted on 21 May, 4:21pm
I think the belt points encourage people to play this and also it is becoming a tourney that people enjoy and want to win purely because it is always a tough game played in a very good spirit, clearly Black belt cannot subsidise everything they have to be profitable. Ps I am already in for this week .

Not sure what to play today. Really need to crack on with lots of emails, but Sunday poker looks tempting.

Might try...

4pm Sunday Warm-Up $80 buy-in $15,000 guaranteed, sometimes struggles to get 200 players, late reg until 5pm.

6pm $200k guarantee. Obviously have to play this. Best regular iPoker tournament. Late reg until 8pm and $215 buy-in.

8pm iPops Live Mega. Gonna definitely play this. 30 packages of 2200 euro. Nice little pre-Vegas warm-up trip, put you in the Arts hotel - nice. Should be an overlay in this one. 215 euro.

9.30pm WSOP Main Event sat. Package is $13,000 and they put you in The Wynn which is great. Satellite costs $525 and they usually get one package and pay 15-20 people their money back. It's funny - it seems easy to get your money back and it feels like a "freeroll".

What's everyone else playing? Anything good I missed?

I've made a last minute decision to go UKIPT Dublin.

Looking to sell 50% of a side event package at 1.20 mark-up.

16th Wed €110 6-Max
17th Thu €110 Turbo
18th Fri €160 Turbo Bounty
19th Sat €330 2 Day Event
20th Sun €180 Charity Bounty
20th Sun €110 Turbo Deepstack

I'm definately playing the Wed and Fri side events. Any I don't play, due to hopefully still being in main, will be refunded.

I think I'll have a big edge in the turbo's. Ive played a decent number of 90mans on Full Tilt and 180mans on Stars in 2010/2011 at small stakes and I have a good push/fold game.

http://i48.tinypic.com/2whmnwn.png

Total buyins = €1000/$1287/£801 * 1.20
= €1200/$1544/£961
1%= €12/$15.44/£9.61

Can accept transfers on BBP 45683ah (my currency is $ however and you can't do transfers if the accounts are in different currencies)

The mug Indian public has skewed prices in the Indian Premier League betting on Betfair and there is a great opportunity for the shrewdies.

http://in.bookmyshow.com/iplt20/?utm_source=IPLT20-2012&utm_campaign=&utm_content=&utm_medium=strMedium

This is the playoff structure and as such assuming all matches are a coinflip (which is pretty much the case), prices should be:

Delhi Daredevils 2.6
KKR 2.6
Mumbai Indians 8.0
CSK 8.0

Fill your boots and there should be an opportunity to trade out before Qualifier 2.

Tonight I'm probably playing the $525 one for the main event. Jamie has won a seat in this one and there are usually a few BBP players.

I haven't seen one get two packages yet, usually the 2nd-19th or so get their $525 back. I've broken even in quite a few of these.

The $215 seems to be picking up and I have noticed that some weeks it needs 15 runners as a minimum and others it needs just 2. This weekend coming it is showing as only needing 2 runners and i will deffo be 1 of them.!
